THROUGH THE YEARS: THE BEST OF THE FRAY

Based off of a referral, a member of The Fray’s management team reached out to us with a simplistic idea for the onset of a new tour. The Fray were going to be spending time rehearsing in Denver in preparation of Through the Years: The Best of the Fray tour and album release, in which the management team thought it best to capture these moments.

SIMPLE IDEAS MORPHING INTO A MUCH BIGGER PLAN

The plan of action was to have a cut and dry shoot for one day and hand over the footage. Initially they didn’t want us to edit anything, just film and deliver the footage. The content was powerful, fun and moving. Our team ended up cutting a promo, sizzle reel and collection of tour liners. Zerosun also filmed the entirety of an acoustic session of “How to Save a Life” for the Make a Wish Foundation and, in total, filmed over the course of 3 days.

IN THEIR ELEMENT

Our team made it really easy on the band, working around family schedules and rehearsal times. Smiles were big and laughs were loud as our team interviewed and captured the band in their element. The filming setup was a 4 person crew arranged in the green room with The Fray’s gear cases. We kept it naturally stylized to the aesthetic of their rehearsal. What you don’t see are the families hanging out casually, kids crawling on the floors and the relaxed atmosphere of what is it like to have a practice session in your hometown.

ORGANIC

The Zerosun team followed suite in showcasing The Fray and delivering stellar assets. This project was the perfect example of organic development, originally being film only to film, edit, and deliver the whole shebang.
